Scimitar
were tasked to write and deliver a bespoke training course
for a Gulf State’s Critical Infrastructure Security
Force. The course was prepared with empathy for the trainees,
to include prayer breaks at the appropriate times throughout
the day. The Scimitar trainer chosen for this task was experienced
in delivering training in the Region, as well as being experienced
in working with an interpreter.
The course itself was designed to impart skills, to convey
the basic security principles and to engender a ‘security
sense’ in the trainees, who on completion of the course
would be going on to guard critical infrastructure sites.
The course was also designed to comply with a UK Awarding
Organisation’s Level 2 Award in Security Skills and
Guarding and the inclusion of a vocational award for all
those that passed the course. This was a prerequisite stated
by the client so that a benchmark could be set against which
future promotion prospects could be gauged.
